Pop Neuron - An Analog Artificial Neural Network
Pop Neuron are modules for an electronic analog artificial network based on the Shun-Ichi Amari Oscillator. The Pop Neuron and the Pop Neuron System was designed by Wolfgang Spahn and is compatible to the analog computer Confetti.
The Pop Neuron is based on a circuit design by Christian Faubel and Wolfgang Spahn and was build for the installation Symbolic Grounding of both artists.
The theoretical model is described in "Dynamics of pattern formation in lateral-inhibition type neural fields" by Shun-Ichi Amari.
Patching
For patching the Pop Neurons one can choose between the bus or patching wires. A combination of both is possible.
When using the bus the input and the output jumper of the PN001 have to be set on the corresponding pins. The PN002 and PN003 have fixed buses.
Modules
Because of attribution issues all Pop Neurons are currently offline.
