DC-DC 5Vto2x12V Converter Board
An USB powerd DC-DC Converter that provides +12V and -12V. It's based on the RECOM REC1.5-0512DR/X1 you can by for example at Pollin.de. The board has two control LEDs. Both are 2V, 1mA Low Current LEDs. If you use different LEDs you have to change the 10kOhm resistor.
Instead of the USB plug the board can be powert by any 5V source, too. For example an Arduino will do the job.
For the modification of the Mini-USB socket one have to cut the spare pins:
